New teeth

Ayden's two bottom teeth came through the first of the month, but they are now able to be caught on film!

He has also started feeding himself. He doesn't hold the bottle very well, but it gets the job done. He was not cooperating with us anymore because he wanted to sit up and eat. He doesn't try to sit up when he is feeding himself, nor does he kick very much.

He smiles all the time and it just melts my heart...

Moving in Reverse

Before I begin, I should update on 6 month check-up. For those who missed it, Ayden turned six months February 9. Stats are below:
18 lbs 2 oz 75th percentile
27 in 75th percentile
I don't remember the head circumference, but it was about 50th percentile.
We have not mastered the art known as crawling, but we can scoot back! The pictures below are the result of me leaving him on a play mat for a few minutes in his room...This is what I returned to -

Funny thing is, the next day I didn't the same thing and found him under the bookcase (you can see the corner). The blue mat is what he was on, so you can see he somehow veered in a semi circle.
Below is a picture I took of him the first day he started sitting up on his own. He was still quite wobbly, but isn't that face precious? I know, a mother's love is biased.

This one is just a random one. Actually, he is wearing his first 6-9 month outfit (just onsie really) and I was having a mommy moment.

New bathtub

Ayden is getting so big so fast! Since he sits up fairly well on his own these days, we decided to move up in bathing equipment. We bought a large inflatable duck that he can sit in. If you squeeze the beak, it quacks! Though this makes no sense to me because there is no way he could reach it. Oh well. Here are a few snap shots of him in it for the first time Monday night...

Poor kid....look at that cowlick...he is destined to have terrible hair...Luckily, he is the cutest thing around so that will help!

Ok, here you have to go back to the first picture. Notice he is sitting fairly straight? He ever so slowly begins to ssssllliiiidddeee right...

This is a nice aerial view. I suppose this is his 'pimp' lean!

January 31 we went to our annual rodeo with everyone. Ayden did great! I did cheat a little and happen to change his diaper when they blew the fireworks after the national anthem, but we were in the hall and he didn't even flinch. He got fussy once when he wanted to eat, and when he was ready to sleep he just fell asleep in my lap.
I don't think he was too interested in the actual going ons of the rodeo, but maybe next year. He is also too young to experience the Midway, but again, maybe next year.

He is smiling, just his hand is in the way. Usually I can get individual pictures with smiles and family photo ops are deer in the headlight.

Playing with Mommy

Now that Ayden rolls over and supports his upper body, it is fun to get on the floor and play with him. This particular day was extra fun. It is neat how he is curious about things now, too. Take the following pictures - I was under his vibrating chair and he thought it was most strange!

I love this picture.

He loves this chair.

His two bottom teeth broke through on Thursday. When they are noticeable and I can get a picture I will get it up here. He also started sitting up unsupported this weekend. He has gotten a little better everyday, but he still falls over. He thinks it is hilarious when he falls forward!

My friend Brooklyn

Kramer had us watch Brooklyn for about an hour last week and she seemed to enjoy hanging out with her future husband, Ayden.

This is so sweet because it looks like they are having a conversation. Who knows...they might be!

I love the look on his face in this one. Too adorable.
Looking back on these pictures, I notice my extra large shoe is under his saucer. Good thing he has large feet, too, or he might have hurt himself!

So it has been over two weeks since I last posted but things have been busy at work. And honestly, I have slowed down on taking pictures of Ayden. That, however, I meant to rectify!
Kendall took these pictures a few days ago. Ayden easily rolls over now, and he seems to enjoy sleeping like his mother (though he sounds like his father! ;) )

Just about every morning we find him with his head crammed in this same corner. We are now working on sitting up, but he isn't too sure of that yet. He can hold out for a few seconds then topples to the side.
