Our First Family "Punkin" Patch

On Friday, we took Ayden to the pumpkin patch in Aubrey with the daycare. Not a whole lot of people showed up, but we still enjoyed ourselves. I have a few more pictures I tried to upload, but I couldn't get them rotated.
Ayden has an aversion to strangers. Most parents would say that is a good thing; but not so much when you are trying to get a family photo and a stranger named 'Pa' is taking your photo. And seriously, the old lady driving the golf cart called the tractor driver Pa.

This was the closest we got to a smile.

So I thought, "Maybe he will smile with Mommy trying to take a picture." However, I forgot about my other child. He seemed to miss the hint.

As we were on our hayride, Ayden was pointing to the little things they had set up. They had hay bales spray painted to look like different things.

Kendall was giving him the option of which pumpkin he wanted. The pickins' were slim, but we managed to get a few good ones.

I will try to post some more pictures later (I am at school sans camera). There are some cute ones of Ayden with a pumpkin. We have put our pumpkins on the porch, and Ayden asks to see them. He points out his 'punkin', daddy's 'punkin' and mommy's 'punkin'.

I'll fly away..

For $250 a person! Needless to say, I didn't fly away to anywhere but other people did. Last Saturday Ayden and I went to the Plano Balloon Festival with Grammy. The temperatures were straight out of Hades, but we managed to find some shade while Ayden got a kick out of some remote control cars. This post is a lot of pictures, but I'm sure most of you won't mind.

Some of the balloons were dull, but the majority were really bright and eye-catching. I have included just a few that I enjoyed.

Love him!

Ayden was fascinated with the balloons. He of course didn't pay attention to them while they were laying them on the ground, but once they began to air them up, he was hooked!

So excited when a balloon was launched.

He managed to find a sucker I had stashed for emergencies in my purse.

He's trying to convince me the sucker was a good idea.

I don't remember what he was trying to tell us, but I love the face I captured.

This is the race track for the remote cars. He is literally bent over laughing! The kids driving the cars were running into each other and the cars would flip and launch over the barriers.

He's a cool cat with his shades.

Whoo-hoo! Maybe...

So I was able to upload this picture! Yay! We had a storm about 3 weeks ago and we lost our Internet connection. I call AT&T and they tried everything on their end, so they sent a technician out to check the wires outside. He leaves me a voicemail saying the exterior wires are good, and it must be a bad modem. So... we buy a modem/router combo (which I was glad to do since our old router was the reason I couldn't blog!) and think it will fix our problem. Guess what? It doesn't. So once again we are on the phone with customer service (Kendall was smart enough to not have me do it this time). They AGAIN make him run tests to make sure it isn't the, oh, I don't even know what they were doing. So they AGAIN send someone out to check the outside lines. He decides he needs to come inside. Fortunately for us, this was a Tuesday. Kramer happens to have a key to our house and is off on Tuesdays. So last Tuesday we regained Internet and got a new -unneeded- modem. But hey, I can blog again! Now I just need pictures...
Balloon Festival in Plano on Saturday, so lets hope I get some great shots!
(as an aside, the picture I posted was the front of Kendall's Father's Day card. I decided to personalize all of the cards this year and they all had some sort of picture of Ayden with a quote I picked that I thought fit the person. I hope they all enjoyed - and yes, I do understand Father's Day was 3 months ago...)

Well crap-ola. Now I notice the blog design needs a little update. That may have to wait until tomorrow...

A quarter of a year ain't bad...

Unless that is how long it has been since your last blog! In all honesty, I don't have a whole lot to blog about. We haven't done much this summer. We have only been to the lake a handful of times and I only took pictures once. We did make a weekend trip to Houston for a visit with friends. Oh, then there was the family reunion - of which I took NO pictures. See a trend? I think I have the same amount of pictures for the first few months of Ayden's life as I do of the remainder. It is my goal to improve on that, however :).
Additionally, I hate my router. I may have mentioned this to some of you before, and this could also be a post in and of itself. For some idiotic reason it will no allow me to upload anything, and it even has fits when I am trying to download at times. Anyhow, here are some pictures from Father's Day for now.
(Notice the date on this post, yet also notice the day it posted. Hehe)

Three generations of Bass men... that may not be a good combination!

Grammy and Ayden

Daddy was teaching him how to kick and make splashes. He thought it was hysterical.

Hooray for Spring!

Even though the temperatures have been dipping WAY too low for my taste at night and in the mornings, the afternoons are warming up quite nicely. Ayden woke up a few mornings ago when it was still cold, so I wrapped in him this blanket that was actually Kendall's when he was little. Kendall managed to get this picture of him after I left. He is watching "Wa-wi" (Little Einsteins). Notice the juice cup in the cup holder...

Yesterday afternoon I decided to take Ayden to play at the park. It wasn't too hot with the 80 mile per hour wind, so I thought it would be a great day. Papa and Kendall were even able to tag along.

Must be a guy thing? ;)

Ayden loves the slide, but for some reason he can't manage to figure out how to get himself started. So daddy to the rescue!

"Mama...there's something in this tunnel!"

"Wait, I think I know this thing!"

"Well, since you're here, mind giving me a push?"

Since we were going to the park, I decided I wanted to get Ayden his first sno cone. I didn't get any pictures of him eating his (which we shared), but he figured out fairly quickly daddy had one, too. Kendall even asked him if his was better than mine, to which Ayden shook his head no. Love my boy! For those who care, I had the new vanilla buttercream with cream - awesome!

All in all, we had a blast. I love that the little kid park is fenced in so I can let Ayden run around and not have to constantly chase after him. I am looking forward to taking him to the park lots this summer!

On Friday night we made the trip to see Grampa. We made it there kind of late (so I didn't have to watch the Master's - OK, not really) but we still had fun. I was able to take some great pictures of Ayden while Grampa was working on the pump to the pool outside. This little boy is cracking me up! He will either pose for a picture (like the first) or run straight at the camera yelling, "Cheese!"

I realize some of the photos are sideways, but I couldn't get them turned for some reason. But don't complain - at least I'm bloggin'! ;)
The rest are just cute pictures of the boy.

He decided Grammy doesn't do a good job of cleaning, so he grabbed a wipee and went to work!

And then he thought Grampa's feet were dirty, too. And yes, he has no pants or socks on but has his shoes on. He's a little on the different side...but I love him all the same! Maybe that is because I, too, am a little on the different side. Must be genetic. :)

Take me out to the...

Little league ball game. Cousin Alex had her very first softball game on Thursday so we headed out to Collinsville to cheer her on. And guess what happened? I forgot to charge my camera since I had accidentally left in plugged into the computer the night before. This was the only picture I was able to take. I think I might be OK with that! Unfortunate there were no pictures of Alex, but I will get some next time.
You can't tell, but he is wearing his Dallas Mavericks hat. He behaved so great at the game. He was actually really into it. He may get to go to more than one Rangers game this year!

Church Egg hunt

We had our church egg hunt the week before Easter (I know, I know... a bit slow, right?) Ayden was definitely more productive this year. Then again, he couldn't walk last year since he was only 7 months old.

He figured out the eggs go into the basket.

Oh! Oh! Oh!

A baseball egg! Yippee!

See egg in hand.

No more egg.

Absolutely love his face in this one. No clue what was going on, but a great picture none the less.

He has since had three more egg hunts, two of which I was able to get pictures (the other was daycare). I will get those posted in separate posts.
