Ayden's THIRD Birthday

Ayden's birthday was actually the first of the month, but I am just now blogging about it. School has started back and between a new curriculum and going between two campuses, I haven't had too much time. The theme for his party was Cars 2. I decided to try and be crafty this year so I made his treats. He didn't have a traditional cake. Instead I made a round brownie to serve as a race track. The other snacks were cupcakes. Pretty simple. Maybe next year my talents will have increased and things will look a little better!

The picture below was actually taken by Ayden... Not bad.

This is Marcus' rear end. Taken by Kendall. Should I be worried?

Last Day of Laziness

Today was my last day of summer vacation. I officially report back to school tomorrow morning. It will be way to early when I wake up...

Jennifer and I decided to go to the new aquarium that just opened in Grapevine. Let me tell you: if you plan on going, buy your tickets online a week before hand. They only let a certain amount in on timed intervals, so you may be standing in line for quite some time. It probably didn't help that there was a summer camp there. That is a story in itself.

We were not allowed to use the flash on out cameras once we got inside the aquarium, so the pictures are the greatest quality. Also, I didn't get them rotated before posting so consider this my apology!

More Conversations with Ayden

That son of mine sure knows how to make me laugh, even unintentionally. He wanted to watch something on tv this afternoon, so I asked him what he wanted to watch. The conversation went as such:

Me: What do you want to watch?
Ayden: Water pail.
Me: What is Water Pail?
Ayden: From last night. Water pail.
Me: Son, I have no idea what water pail is.
Ayden: T-O-wather (yes, with the 'h').
Me: Still no idea what you want to watch.

However, at this point I had a pretty good idea it was the show he and Kendall had watched this morning before church, not last night. Everything is last night to Ayden right now. But I couldn't give in to him since he was starting to literally spell it out for me!

Ayden: Say it with me: T (then cocks his head at me until I say it), O (waits for me to repeat), L (again waits for me to say it, but I am trying not to laugh because he is now adding letters), wather pail.
Me: That's how you spell water pail?
Ayden: Yup.

At this point, I go ahead and ask him if it was the cartoon from this morning, which was Avatar. He got water pail because of the characters in it are from a water tribe. I just found this too hilarious not to share. He has a funny way of remembering things. He calls the movie "Up" 'balloons on house' because the main character ties balloons to his house to fly it to Paradise Falls. Crazy kid.

To Infinity...

Ayden and Keleigh decided to have some sibling love time while watching Toy Story. To begin, no one noticed I was taking pictures...
As I came around the side, Keleigh caught me!
And as soon as Ayden made me, it was "Cheese", though he kept his hand in front of his face.
When he finally moved it, Keleigh was done with the photo op.
