Operation: Potty Train

UPDATE BELOW!!!

So, I decided Spring Break was the time - Ayden was going to be potty trained! I've always said I didn't want to change two diapers if it wasn't necessary. I've tried to potty train him a few times before, and honestly, I gave up on the first day. This time I was determined.

Day one was not so good. We decided to hitch a ride with Grandma to go visit Aunt Jennifer and Cole. Ayden did so well on the way down there! A few minutes from our destination, Ayden says, "Oh cruddy!" from the back seat. Keni and I assumed he had peed in his carseat, but the little booger had held it! We pulled over and he completely filled up his portable potty. What a trooper! Of course, he then proceeded to pee in two pairs of jeans and three pairs of underwear. But hey, it was only day one.

And did I mention I just completely took all of his diapers away? He fell asleep Sunday night and I took all the extras we had, as well as the diaper holder on his bed, and hid them. When he was confused Monday morning as to where his diapers were I advised him the diaper fairy took them. His reply: "Yup, daddy took 'em". I freaking died laughing.

Day two was slightly better, but still a lot of accidents. However, by day three, he was doing quite well. Day 4, I put him down without a pull up on at nap time and he managed to stay dry the whole time! He has been sleeping through the night and naps without accidents ever since, but he have started having a few accidents lately during the day. From what I have heard, this is natural, so I am hoping he gets over it quickly!

Way to go, Ayden!

So something told me posting this last night might lead to problems: and I was right, unfortunately. Ayden had his first accident during the night last night. He came to bed with us about 3:00. Then, proceeded to not get up this morning and instead peed on my hip. This is going to be a great day....

Christmas, part 2???

So in reviewing my previous blog posts, besides being reminded of how behind I am, I noticed I had a post titled Christmas, part 1. Then it struck me: most times, a part one has a part 2. So, three months later, here we are!
Who's eating the cookies for Santa?

There's no way it's sweet, little Ayden...

Eh, whatever - Santa needs a diet anyway! :)

This was actually the first year Santa came to visit Ayden in traditional Santa style. He wasn't concerned about presentation before now since Ayden didn't fully get the concept. But this year, Santa was able to make a wonderful display. So wonderful in his mind he grabbed my camera and snapped a few pictures.

Yes, that is a DS sitting there. But of course, Ayden was much more pleased with the array of new Cars characters he received! Please pay no mind to the fact my OCD child has lined every car in a straight line...

Once we got the DS turned on, Ayden was interested.

He now has three games (Dora, which was the one Santa brought him, Noah's Ark (thanks Auntie Ninnie) and Diego). He usually only plays on the way to and from school since it is a 40 minute ride one way.

Now I feel slightly accomplished!

I had my 24 week check up yesterday, and I opted to go ahead and get my glucose test over with! The bad thing is the lab wouldn't take me until 8:30 and you can't draw the blood for an hour. I was starving come 9:40!

However, we did get some news yesterday. It seems the baby should be here June 17. I will be 39 weeks exactly that day so we will be able to do the c-section. Yay! I was going to ask my doctor for a general timetable (I hate not having something set), but she offered up the information when she first walked into the room. Also, I start going every two weeks after my next check up; time seems to be going by fast, but I know it will slow down soon enough (when I am ready to have this baby).

Spring break officially started for me about 5 o'clock today, but I won't be having a vacation per se: Operation Potty Train begins first thing Monday morning. I am taking all prayers as they are needed!

I was able to take this precious boy to the park on Thursday after school. They are adding on to the main park (which Ayden doesn't usually play on), so we just went to the toddler park like usual. But leave it to my son to decide he wants to play on the big boy park when it is shut down: let the melt down ensue. However, I was able to pacify him by showing him the two fire trucks that were parked on stand-by.

I LOVE the above picture! The only thing I don't like is we went straight from school so I had no camera other than my phone, so the quality is poor.
