This one will play a little catch-up. First, Kendall and I went to the Mavs game a few weeks ago. It was game 4 against the Spurs in the first round of the playoffs. It was awesome! Jet got the 6th man award before the game, and then the Mavs went on to win 99-90. I have included a few pictures for those who enjoy the Mavs (sorry Marcus, none of Dirk's hiney)
J-Ho about to shoot free throws with Jet and Kidd in the background.
Jayton is playing baseball in Gainesville and we have been able to make it to one game so far. Unfortunately, most of his games start at 7:45 and Ayden is usually winding down for the night. We actually had to leave this game early for that very reason.
Ayden really wasn't into the game. I guess it was a bit slow for him.
For Mother's Day we went bowling with my family. It was actually very fun. We were able to bowl two games, and Kendall won the second game. Sadly, I was in the lead until about the 8th frame and then I lost it. Ayden had a blast being past around. However, this was the day before he got pretty sick.
We were cracking up because every picture he would take with Laina had an awful face! The one above was awesome.
Cheesin' for the camera.
He would take good pictures for Nin.
Another one of those faces with Laina.
These pictures are what help me believe Kendall is going to be an awesome dad. This one cracks me up because they are both just watching her ball slowly roll down the alley. Plus, her hand on her had just finishes it off!
Now it seems as though they are deciding the best course of action for her next attempt.

Now, for those who make it this far to read, Ayden got pretty sick this past week. It started on Monday morning about 4:30. He woke up crying very hard and Kendall couldn't get him back to sleep. After a while I got up because I could tell something was wrong. I checked his temperature and it was just over 102. We gave him some Tylenol and it went down. I went ahead and made him a doctor's appointment for that afternoon since he was going to have one for his 9 month checkup anyhow. We go to the doctor's office and they do the regular checkup things like weigh and measure. For those keeping score, he now weighs 20 pounds 4 ounces and is measuring in at....
29 3/4 inches
He is definitely taking after his father on that one! After the nurse gets all of that done, Dr. Klein comes in and we discuss what has transpired over the past day and he decides it would be best to send us to the hospital for some blood work, urinalysis and a chest x-ray. Needless to say, I flipped out. I called Kendall and asked him to leave work so he could come to the hospital with me. We got to the hospital and first he had to give blood. No fun! His little veins are hard to find and that was not a fun place to be while they prodded him. Afterward we went to have the x-ray taken and he was not a fan of that, either. We then had to go back and give another specimen of blood. Again, not any fun.
I proceeded to take him back to the doctor Tuesday and Wednesday. His fever would come back while he slept and he was raspy when he breathed. At one point his fever got to 104. Diagnosis: bronchiolitis. And apparently it is fairly common and is caused by all types of viruses (rotovirus, rhino virus, and even RSV). And because it is a viral infection, there are no drugs for it so it must run it's course. On top of that, he developed an ear infection so he was put on antibiotics anyway.
I am proud to say Kendall and I were able to survive our first health scare with Ayden. To date, we have not caught up on our sleep, but we are working on that!
Till next time...
