First Easter Egg Hunt

Ayden attended his first Easter egg hunt on Sunday. I tried to put him on the ground and let him crawl after the eggs, but he wasn't too into that. He also wasn't into getting a decent picture taken, as I have posted the proof below.

He thought blinking would be great for the photo op.

Eyes closed again...

I had just put him down when he wanted back up.

Brody kept putting eggs in front of him, and Ayden would look at him like, "What do you expect me to do with this?"

We even tried handing him an egg and showing him how they go in the basket and he wasn't going for that too much, either.

Like the past few days, the wind was killer. It was super high speed and made it pretty chilly.

This was when we first got outside. I thought he might try to pick the eggs up if I made him hover over top, but no success.

My New 'Do

Our sweet little Ayden...has some crazy hair. Unfortunately, he comes by it honestly from both of his parents. We laugh at all the things he was doomed to have before he was born:
1. Bad Hair
2. Large Feet
I'm sure some could add a few others to that list, but I will be nice. Last night I walked into his room after Kendall had given him a bath and I just thought his hair was so crazy adorable. I know it needs to be cut, but I am just not sure if he could sit there and handle it.

This is the face I usually get when he realizes the camera is on him.

His hair was cracking me up so much that I just kept laughing as I was taking pictures. Good thing is he likes to laugh at you while you are laughing!

As with most kids when they figure out how to stand up, he has started using his crib rail as a chew toy. This is him going in for the kill...

Yum! Jackpot. Isn't that hair a mess? I love it!

So yes, Ayden is now able to pull himself up on anything. He is super fast when he crawls and will even 'cruise' while holding on to something like the couch. We think he might be walking soon. Kendall swears he is going to be his walking partner at Relay for Life.

Trip to the Park

Friday we took a trip to the park with Brody and Cole. The trip started out on the swing, which Ayden enjoyed. He would just kick his legs like crazy!

Cole with his Cars sunglasses.

Ayden and Cole on the Turtle I believe (not a real one, of course).

Going down the slide.

Standing and his imaginary chair

Ayden has no desire to crawl, though he does it quite well. He can get anywhere very quickly. He has gotten good at changing directions, and has also gotten pretty good at going from a crawling position to a sitting position. The pictures below are with his chair that talks when he interacts with it. It was priceless to see his face when he first made it talk! He uses it to stand up, and yes, he has had a few endo's with it. I apologize for the sideways pictures, but I don't know how to rotate on here.

Apparently, Ayden sits on an invisible chair while laying on his back drinking his bottle. I looked over Friday morning and this is what I saw...

I think it was extra funny when he would wiggle his foot or flex his toes!

Leap, Froggy!

We bought Ayden a Johnny Jump Up. Unfortunately, we didn't take into account our house's door jambs. Only two will work: the kitchen and our bathroom. The kitchen leaves him with about 8 - 10 inches above the ground...so we tried to put a stool under him. Didn't work so well. So I suppose he will only get to jump when we are near our bathroom!

A Chuckle a Day

Ayden thought this was funny. I was on one side of his tunnel and I would act like I wasn't paying attention, then lean in. His laugh just kills me. He did let up a little once I got the camera. It was a much heartier chuckle before!

Ayden went to the doctor yesterday and the verdict was an ear infection brought on by, you guessed it, allergies. I guess he gets more than just his looks from his father! The doctor was impressed it is only his second ear infection, but he did tell me to expect more. Fun. So we are now on our second stint with amoxicillin.
They did weigh him and he came in at 18 lb 12 oz, but they didn't measure him.

Sometimes I just grab the camera and start taking random pictures. Some examples are below. Sadly, it takes me a ton of pictures to get decent ones.
I love this one. It is of his Old Man Face, which he is famous for. I am sad to think how this face will disappear as he gets teeth.

Ayden loves everything outside. So I often open the door and just let him look out. I am trying special photos in black and white and this is one I like in black and white. Not my favorite, but I still like it a lot.

If you know us, you know we are Mavs fans. Even though their season isn't all that great this year, we are still faithful watchers. Ayden loves to watch the Mavs. Here he is watching with dad.
This is a recent picture that has a good shot of his teeth. Remember, you can click on most pictures and they will enlarge.
